He has led diverse teams in developing PLC-based hydraulic and electric machinery, commercializing prototypes, designing lifting systems, and overseeing field retrofits, overhauls, commissioning, and optimization projects. Proficient in SolidWorks for 3D modeling, he specializes in mechanical design, technical drawings, engineering calculations, and FEA simulations.
He's adept at presenting to diverse audiences, including executives, investors, operators, and safety managers, conducting on-site demonstrations and training sessions. Andy has a successful track record in patenting inventions and implementing game-changing technologies, still utilized by previous employers.
His strengths lie in critical thinking, creative problem-solving, and managing complex issues while ensuring functional efficiency. Andy excels in extracting value from creative problem-solving sessions, showcasing success in online meetings. Notably, his recent role as a mechanical design engineer involved collaborating with an SME-rich team, redesigning and retrofitting the MPG Burner at NWR Refinery, increasing operational run time from 64 to 10,000 hours without failure and facilitating the latest refinery launch in Alberta.
